My Invention | My Escape…

A 19 year old punk muso-tech geek despising his violent father and fucked off with his life.

Me at 19!
Me at 19!

The Jamma concept came to me in a flash in 1981 and changed my life.

By 1982, I was using my electronics background to work on developing The Jamma concept, (at the time, called The Rhythm Stick). And I was planning my escape from a life I hated... With my band: The 6ix.

Then in 1983 The 6ix won a rock competition at the seminal ‘Marquee Club’ in London. And later in 1983 (for the competition prize), we recorded our first single ’Money Talks’ at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London.

This was how I met my dear friend and role model Mike a producer at Abbey Road.  And how, just getting a beer with Mike one day would, a decade later, lead to my decades of depression and self harming.

And hence why I lost the plot with The Jamma… and every other part of my life.
